     When I entered middle school, my parents bought to me first cell phone to celebrity entrance in Cell Phone Stores by using mother’s card.

     Before enrolling in middle school, one day in February, I and my parents go to Cell Phone Stores. We looked various cell phones. When we just looked cell phones, I watched which cell phone. That was a new product that well received in the market. I felt in love with it at first sight. So I decided to buy it. My first cell phone is small, fits in one hand because of it is streamlined shape. And its color is pink. I was so happy when I had a first cell phone. I wanted to boast to my friends. And I thanked my parents.

     My first cell phone is important experience because of it’s the first electronic device that I had in my life.

     If you ask to college students, “What experience you want the most when you enrolled?” they answer “I want to overseas trip.” Like this, many students want to overseas trip, and many students go traveling abroad. I think Northern Europe takes several advantages to visit for college students.

     Northern Europe is name of a place that includes Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. Northern Europe has beautiful scenery, excellent welfare, high status of women, higher education level. People in Northern Europe are friendly and always willing to help their neighbors. My friend took a trip to Sweden; she says “I undergo strange experience. I experienced a white night! This is so shocking experience.” White night means it never gets completely dark. In Korea, we can not experience White night. My friend recommended to trip to Northern Europe.

     I think Northern Europe is a place that we should go. I really want to go to Northern Europe. Maybe if I am lucky, my dream will come true.

     Our school has a lecture called “Global cultures and Sungshin’s leadership.” This lecture special due to we are taught many nations cultures. I learn many nations’ cultures about America, Korea, Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Islam. I am interesting this lecture due to I watch, hear about a strange nations that I have not visited. Especially, I remember ‘America’ lecture. This lecture’s professor was fine, funny and tact in teaching.

I think America is good nations. There are many opportunity, and America is nation of freedom. So, America is one of the countries that I want to go. I learn traditional American values and beliefs, religious heritage, the frontier heritage, sports and American values, and the American family at this lecture.

According to this class, American set great store by individual freedom and self-reliance. There would be no ruling class of noblemen in the America. By limiting the power of the government and churches and eliminating a formal aristocracy, the early settlers created a climate of freedom where the emphasis was on the individual. Also, professor says, “self-reliance is needed to maintain individual freedom.” I can see this point through the movies, dramas in the United State. I am most envious of equality of opportunity in the United State. Americans see much of life as a race for success. For them, equality means that everyone should have an equal chance to enter the race and win. In other words, equality of opportunity may be thought of as an ethical rule. The race for success is a fair one and a person does not win just because he or she was born into a wealthy family, or lose because of race or religion. Professor says, “This thought begets the American concept of ‘fair play’.” I think Korean must emulate this American’s value.

     The Collage Scholastic Aptitude Test was taken on last Thursday. The Collage Scholastic Aptitude Test, CSAT has been considered the most essential part of university admission. Questions on the Scholastic Ability Test cover all academic subjects. Questions deal with current issues and theoretical. The Scholastic Aptitude Test takers will receive their test results individually. Currently, students enter university on the strength of their CAST scores.

In Korea, a person’s educational background is all-important. Therefore, South Korea students, parents are desperate to CAST. In other words, it is safe to say that going to college is the one and only goal in most students’ minds in Korea. But it has a lot of problems. First, our education system is overly weighted toward college admission. Our education system only emphasizes Language, English, and Mathematics. And Arts, Physical Education courses be ignored in our education system. We need to reform the education system that focuses only on college entrance exams. Second, parents are facing higher expenses for their children’s private education. As the economy shows no sign of reviving, a growing number of parents feel the burden of their children’s high private tuition fees. Despite the global economic crisis, which had huge impact on the domestic economy as well, private education expenses saw a gradual increase. Therefore, one of the many tasks of the Ministry of Education is to unarguably lower the costs a private education. Finally, excessive competition in entrance examinations has destroyed students’ moral fiber. The pressure of university admission fell heavy on student shoulders. Students suffer a great deal of stress due to competitive college prep environment, and the fast-paced lifestyle of students and pressures from the university entrance exams often make us all forget about our childhood innocence.

I went to the art museum on last sunday.

The name of the exhibition is ‘Media City Seoul 2010’. The exhibition was held this year in the sixth. This year’s theme is ‘Trust’. The art museum offers various types of paintings, sculptures and photographs by artists from around the world.

This exhibition was difficult to understand. But it was interesting and enjoyable time.

     I went to the art museum on last Sunday. Because of I had a homework that see an exhibition and write about my impression of it. The art museum is located in City Hall. Last Sunday weather is good, so I went to art museum with a joyful heart. The name of the exhibition is ‘Media City Seoul 2010’. The exhibition was held this year in the sixth. This year’s theme is ‘Trust’. The art museum offers various types of paintings, sculptures and photographs by artists from around the world. Art museum is consisted of three layers. Despite the weekend, many people are in an art museum.

     I see many art works. One of the memorable works is ‘Xijing Men’. Xijing Men is a project-based collaborative team composed of three artists: Chen Shaoxiong from China, Kim hongsok from Korea, and Tsuyoshi Ozawa from Japan. They take their name based on the fact that in Asia, there is a main city in the North, Beijing (Buk-gyeong); the South, Nanjing (Nam-gyeong); and the East, Tokyo (Dong-gyeong). However, a main city in the West, Xijing (Suh-gyeong), does not exist. Struck by this idea, these three artists named themselves the Xijing Men (Suh-gyeong-in) and sought to portray Xijing City. Four projects recount stories about Xijing’s history, society, politics, economics, and culture. This collaborative work by artists from three distinct Asian cultures is a project that dreams of creating a utopian space. It ultimately drives viewers toward an imagination that has humorous political overtones. Despite Suh-gyeong does not actually exist, there image these space is exist. This thinking was very interesting.

     This exhibition was difficult to understand. But it was interesting and enjoyable time. If I have the opportunity once, I want to go there once again.

     I imagine my first perfect date. I watch so many dramas or movie about beautiful love, so I think my first date same that dramas, movie. The Following sentences include my thoughts about my first perfect date.

     First, take a shower and makeup at least 3 hours prior to date. And wear a dress that prepared a few days ago. Second, my boyfriend picks me up with a nice car. We go to a great café, and eat coffee, cake, or ice cream while chatting. Next, we go to a theater. After the movie, we went to a restaurant to eat dinner. Finally, we will have to drive and he will take me to my home by car.

     These steps are all my hope. I wish my first date will be same my imagination. I hope that day comes soon.

     If you ask to people, “How to pass the time when the way to attend school, take public transportation or when you alone anywhere?” they say that they listen to music. I usually listen to music using MP3 Player at the time like them. My MP3 player involves an efficient and convenient. If you read my post, you image my MP3 player.

     My MP3 player just fits in one hand because of it is streamlined shape. And It color is white. The screen is occupied half of the MP3. There is a touch button that to operate the menu on the front of the machine. It has 2 buttons in the right side. The above button is the power button, and the below button is the record button. It has a place that the charger plugs and earphones plugs at the bottom of MP3 player. On the back of MP3 player, the manufacturer and model name is written.

     As mentioned earlier, it is very easy to operate without the complexity and it is essential to me. If I do not have my MP3 player, I will spend a boring time. So I feel very grateful for it.

     My family and friends says “You seem to a hardworking person!” I never mind about their opinion. But one day, I realized that fact due to a friend. My friend explained that fact using several examples.

     My friend gives me two examples. One of them was something to do with my daily life, the other one be related to study. First, she says to me, “You always wake up early morning to go to school.” As she spoke, I wake up early morning because of school and home is far. If I do not wake up early, I will be late. Since this idea, I am never tardy from elementary school to university. Also, she says to me, “You make a plan ahead 2 weeks about prepare for an examination.” As she spoke, I make a plan ahead 2 weeks about examination because of I prefer to work along with the plan.

     I am proud of that fact the attention of people around me. I hope to do not change this advantage. I am proud to be a hardworking woman!

     Midterm exams are over; I went to the library to borrow books. I was just debating what I want to borrow books that have recommended to Internet or a friend. I borrow a book that recommended by a friend.

The name of the book was “Wandeukyi.” This book shows the fact of a boy, at the same time seems to emerge in Korea. The hero of this book is “wandeukyi.” He is high school student. His mother went away when he was a boy, and his father is a midget. He is living in a rooftop house with his father and uncle. Though he lives in rooftop house, he never will be discouraged. This book begins with wandeukyi pray to God to take the homeroom teacher at church. His homeroom teacher lives on the other side of his rooftop house. His homeroom teacher is rough, reviling. He is not a good student. Because of he can not study well. And he is a rebel of his school. He is the poor supply target established by the school. His midget father makes a good fist of dancing. And his uncle is a stuttering speech-impaired. But his uncle is always smiling and nice. His father, his uncle loves to dance, but they are poor so they sold Goods in the subway. His father’s dream is wandeukyi to become novelists. But wandeukyi is not interested in writing. Wandeukyi meets with Vietnamese mothers because his homeroom teacher. And he falls in love with a girl who same class mates. Also he learns to kickboxing and finds purpose in life. With the help of his homeroom teacher, his father and his uncle open dance school. In fact, wacky homeroom teacher will also be a good teacher.

This book is funny, and impressive. Wandeukyi is not a very good at to express his feeling. But he meets his homeroom teacher, first love, and his mother. He changed a lot. This point very impressed. I want to recommend this book to others.

     Finally, I finished the test that performed in two weeks. My exams started on October 20. And the test is over on November 1. The number of test subjects in this semester was seven. The numbers of majors are 3; the other three subjects are the subjects for general education. And the other one is major of another department.

The first test of this midterm exams is majoring in other department. I participate in the lessons of the Department of Media Communication. The name of the lecture is ‘Image Communication’. The test was held 1 hour 30 minutes. The questions in the examination were considerably difficult. 4 questions of 5 questions difficulty were fine. But last one is very hard. That question is related creativity. In other words, this question is interpreting the meaning of advertising images that I’ve never seen. I worried about this test, because I participate in other departments major for the first time in my life.

     The last test of this midterm exams is English 2. The test was held 1 hour 15 minutes. This test consist Reading exam in 1 class testing TOEIC Vocabulary and Writing exam (writing 1 paragraph) in the other class. The last test is writing exam. The topics of this test were told for the test day. I wrote 2 paragraph that ‘Description’ and ‘Process’. Than I thought, it was a lack of time. So there was no time to look back to what I write. I worried about the score. To recover this midterm exams, I will prepare very hard final exams.

     In the morning, I and my mother went shopping in the Times Square. Fortunately, the rain has stopped since this morning ran. But the weather was chilly. And the wind blew strongly. The path is slippery with the rain. Despite chilly weather, many people were on the streets. We ate breakfast in the morning and left the house. While walking to the subway station, we talked about what to buy. We are listed shoes, clothes, bags, etc. And we decided to prioritize among them. First of all, we decided to buy shoes. Then we decided to go shopping for winter clothes.

     After riding the subway for 30 minutes, we arrived in Times Square. Since it was the weekend, there were many people on the subway than on weekdays. Likewise, the streets were crowded with people. And there were many cars on the street. First, we have gone to the shop that we can use the vouchers. Stores were listed winter clothes, winter shoes. Because it is winter season, the interior of the shop was similar to winters. Also some items in the store were similar to winter mood. The colors of all items were dark series like a black, brown. As we decided earlier, first we saw the shoes. Strangely, it was similar to the design of the product. Distress at the end of what to buy, I decided to buy black shoes. It has a good fit, did not hurt my feet. After buying shoes, I and my mother went to the store to buy her clothes. There were winter clothes. We saw winter jacket among clothes. My mother was considering the price and weight, etc. Then she bought a brown jacket at a reasonable price. After finishing all the shopping, we went to a restaurant to eat pork cutlet. The food was delicious. Today was a bit cold but great day.

     Yesterday, I went to Hong-ik University with my friend. My high school friend enrolled at Hong-ik University was in a play at her school that day. She and her classmates are played ‘DON JUAN’. ‘DON JUAN’ is the story about a man called ‘Don Juan’. Don Juan is bumptious, selfish, Casanova, merciless and did not knew about love. He has a fidelity wife, but he meets other women. Such his notorious actions, People of Seville are criticizing him. Eventually, his wife tired of the selfish behavior leaves him. But he does not care about the fact. He lives life hard and fast: drinking, partying every night. He had been much addicted to intemperance and licentious pleasures in his youth. One day, he met a beautiful woman. And he fall in love. She had a boyfriend who went to war. But they do not care for it. When their love is deeper, her original boyfriend comes back from battlefield. Men know all the facts, and he felt his heart swelling with indignation. He has to challenge Don Juan to a duel. Don Juan accepted his challenge to a duel. They are duel at dawn. Namely, the two men fought a duel over a lady. In the end, a man put Don Juan to the edge of the sword. Don Juan died tragically. People of Seville were distraught by the death of Don Juan. This story is ‘Don Juan’. The most memorable thing in this play is a beautiful and magnificent music. In this play, sang in French like an original performance. Music was beautiful, impressive. In theater, my friend songs and danced in part 1. On stage, my friend acted very well. She seemed to others on stage. I am happy to see friend for a long time, and happy to see good play.

     Last Tuesday, I went to Insadong with my friend. The weather was chilly. Despite the cold weather, the streets were crowded with people. I thought there were lots of foreigners, but Insadong was crawling with Koreans. Also I thought there would be less crowded on a weekday, but there were crowded with people enough not to move forward.

     Insadong is the place to look around antiques, art, ceramics and traditional clothing stores. And Insadong was once a residential area for palace officials, royal families, and yangban classes. So I and my friend planned to explore antique shops at first. There were many antique shops. We went to antique shops located in remote regions. That antique shop sells old books, old paintings, ceramics, woodenware, and many other items. That antique shop was full of rare and precious items. I saw a precious old book in that antique shop. The book cover was faded, but I felt antique beauty from that book. These places were calm, serene and tranquil. I felt that there was stability in the heart. We came from an antique shop, and went to tea museum. Tea museum was also located in remote regions. Tea museum was exhibited many tea, and sells various tea. There were many teas that I did not know. That places were also calm, quiet, and peaceful. We came from a tea museum, walked the streets. In the streets, many people sold the stuff of Korea traditional pattern. These stuffs were pencil case, wallet, clothing, stationery, and fan. My friend bought a pencil case that has a traditional pattern. We are hungry and went to a restaurant, and ate dolsot bibimbap. Tuesday was a very significant day.

     Last Tuesday was the first day of Thanksgiving Day. I intend to visit my relatives with my family. However, unlike my expectation it rained a lot in Seoul. Subway stations are locked down so that rain and it rained so much you can not walk. The media has reported that this serious situation. According to my plan, my family arrived in relatives in time and has a good time with relatives. But due to a sudden rain, I and my family stayed home. I thought the rain was stop, but rain has been more fiercely. The situation became worse. Eventually, we decided to go to relatives the next day. My mother called to relatives. Relatives felt sorry. Due to inclement weather, the food was not delivered. So my family made done with ramen for dinner. My family thought good dinner with relatives, but actually we put cold rice in ramen and ate it. After dinner, We watched TV together. All TV programs are Thanksgiving Day special programs. We feel the bitterness, loneliness, and vanity. And soon, everyone slept.

     And the next morning, rain stopped. We left for relatives. Although the sky was cloudy, we were very fun. The street is empty of moving cars. We arrived at the relative’s home contrary to our expectations. Although very early in the morning, my relatives welcomed us with smile. We prepared food for ancestral rites table, and held a memorial service for us ancestors. Then we are having lunch together. After lunch, we talked each other, and played game. It was a very enjoyable time.

Today is very tiring day. Because I had 3 lectures today. Two classes are Education classes, The other one is Major lessons. The first lecture was the 2^nd period, I woke up at 7:50 to listen the first lecture. I had 3 hours between first class and the second class. So I ate lunch with my friend, and had gone to the library to study. The last class ended at 7:15 pm. I was in school from morning till evening. So I am very tired.

This is my first blog diary. Yesterday I went to a bookstore to buy online-stock English books. Unlike a few days before the weather was very sunny, the streets were so many people. Only one left, I went to bookstores to buy books on a very sunny day it felt a little bit desperate. I went to a bookstore early morning, but go to a bookstore for English books were consulted. So I talked to a clerk about the book, he answered an English book is just sold out in a few minutes ago. I was very frustrated. Clerk see my frustrated face, he said he'll see what else was in the bookstore to stock. Search the Internet to try something and he tries to call somewhere, finally he replied a book was left near the bookstore. So I asked the location of stores to him, he gave me the location of stores. I take the subway and went to another bookstore. The weather still was good, I became more and more depressed. 15 minutes later I arrived in bookstores. I found a book in a bookstore, but the book did not exist there. Once again I am frustrated. Once again I asked about a book to the clerk of the place. He tries searching the internet, go to the shelves and found a book I was looking for. At that moment, I am very happy! I have embraced the book in my arms. And I calculate the book, a look at other books in the bookstore. Yesterday was a very tiring and challenging day.

Yesterday was a very tough day. Yesterday I had class at 9 am, but I got up late and went to school hurriedly. I could not even eat breakfast. Just before arrive in class, but I was frustrated. Because I did not have a textbook. I saw a book with a friend and was once again frustrated. That is owing to think homework is the next lesson. So I could not eat rice, has homework in the library. After all the day’s lesson, I went to sit on the subway as tired. As soon as I sat down to sleep started up, after a time I was frustrated again. Because I fell asleep, so I missed the station. Eventually I went home on the subway again.


In the future, I got up early in the morning to eat rice and do not forget to bring the textbook. Also I do not forget to do homework.
